Travel News

More airports are starting to offer free Wi-Fi - Not that long ago, it was difficult to find an airport that offered wireless Internet access, and generally there was a charge for the service. Gradually, airports have started offering free Wi-Fi. "It's almost become a required amenity," said Perry Cooper a representative
of Sea-Tac airport. "Passengers expect it now. Especially in places like Seattle where folks are very tech-savvy. In fact, it's been our number one customer service request for years."
Virgin America Increases Fee to $25 for All Checked Bags - Virgin America has increased its baggage fees. Effective for all bookings made on or after Feb. 12, for travel on or after March 1, the airline has changed its baggage fee to a flat $25 rate for all checked items (excluding the first and second bag for First Class travelers, and the first bag for Main Cabin Select and Main Cabin Refundable Fare travelers). Previously, the airline's fee was $20 for these checked items. Virgin
America maintains one of the most generous first-bag weight limits in the industry -- up to 70 pounds. Now, any Main Cabin guest who books a non-refundable ticket for travel on or after March 1 will be charged a flat rate of $25 for each checked bag, through the 10th checked bag. Guests who purchased Virgin America tickets before Feb. 12 or who book and travel before March 1 will be charged per the airline's previous bag fee rate.
Disney Details New Plans for Disney World, Disney Cruise Line -
Walt Disney World released new details about additions coming to Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Cruise Line and the newly renamed ESPN Wide World of Sports. At Disney World, ground will be broken on the Fantasyland expansion project this year where each Disney princess will have her own themed village with Fantasyland Forest. The three-year construction project will result in the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom
history. At Dreams Come True with Cinderella, guests can meet Cinderella face to face in her country chateau, share a dance or train to be one of her Royal Knights. At A Birthday Surprise for Sleeping Beauty, it is party time inside the Briar Rose Cottage, nestled in a forest setting. The three good fairies give Aurora the Sweet 16 party she never received, and everyone's invited to join.
Moscow offers plenty of cheap attractions - Moscow is known to be one of the world's most expensive cities, with its luxury boutiques, upscale restaurants and hoards of millionaires who support the pricey businesses. But the Russian city also is home to millions of middle-class inhabitants who patronize underground cafes, indie theaters and travel by subway. Moscow features a variety of activities
for those on a budget, including galleries, art cafes, parks, churches and interesting neighborhoods.
